HUMAN RESOURCES

Sue Hanley
Director of Human Resources

Sue has a 30+ year history working for Community Action Agencies. Since coming to Community Concepts in 1999, she has served in a variety of capacities before becoming Director of Human Resources in 2009. Sue holds an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Champlain College in Burlington, VT and has an HR certificate from University of Southern Maine.  She has completed numerous HR and leadership programs, including the Androscoggin Leadership Development Institute. Sue provides guidance to senior leadership with employee relations and oversees the agency’s safety, wellness, and benefits committees.

 

FINANCE

 Laura Gormley
Director of Finance

Laura Gormley is the Director of Finance at Community Concepts.  Prior to joining Community Concepts in March 2017, Laura spent over 17 years in the accounting and finance field working in both for-profit and non-profit organizations, most recently as Senior Budget Analyst at Martin’s Point Health Care.  Laura has a BS in Accounting/Finance from the University of Southern Maine.   Along with strong accounting, budget/forecast, and analytical skills, Laura is very technology savvy and enjoys digging into systems and utilizing them to the fullest abilities.  Laura brings her knowledge of lean processes to create an environment of continuous improvement.

 

TRANSPORTATION SERVICES

 Bradley Edwards
Director of Transportation

Brad has been with Community Concepts since 2009 and has worked in multiple departments.  He brings a variety of experiences to the Director of Transportation position including a background in project engineering/management as well as being a small business owner.  Brad holds a BS in Construction Management from the University of Maine where he also minored in Business Administration and Entrepreneurial Engineering.

 

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

 Rich Davis
Director of Information Technology

Rich Davis is the Director of Information Technology for Community Concepts. Rich has worked in the Information Technology field for 29 years, providing and supporting technology initiatives that help organizations meet their mission goals. He has worked in the education and banking industries as well as in the non-profit arena. Rich has a BS in Business Administration from the University of Southern Maine. He also holds numerous industry certifications from organizations including, Microsoft, Apple, IBM, Hewlett Packard, and the International Scrum Institute.

 

HOUSING AND ENERGY SERVICES

Sandy Albert
Director of Housing Improvement Services

Sandy has been with Community Concepts since 1999 and started as the Self-Help Administrative Specialist.  In 2013 she became the Director of Housing Improvement Services and is now responsible for the oversight and management of a yearly budget of approximately $5.5 million which includes: the Self-Help Housing program, Lead Hazard Control Programs, Weatherization Grant programs, Heating Improvement Programs, State of Maine and CDBG Home Repair programs, Home Replacement Programs, and LIHEAP.  She has a B.S. in Business Administration from Husson University and is the prior Chair of the Maine community Action Association’s Housing Council Group.

Lisa McGee
Director of Community Support Services

Lisa has been with Community Concepts since 1993. She began in the Fuel Assistance Program, and now is Director of Community Support Services. She oversees the Fuel Assistance Program and other community services.

 

CHILDREN’S SERVICES

Dianne Nelder
Director of Children’s Services

Dianne Nelder, LCSW is originally from Northern Maine and has been practicing Social Work for over 30 years.  She earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine at Farmington, with a major in Psychology and a minor in Education.   Dianne went on to earn her Master of Social Work from the University of New England at Biddeford.  She has worked in locked psychiatric facilities, residential, adult, children’s services, out-patient and community based practices.  She has held director positions in crisis services, children’s residential, special education and transitional programs, children’s out patient, school based counseling, and adult community based services.  Currently, she holds the position of Director of Children’s Services at Community Concepts, Inc.

 

COMMUNITY CONCEPTS FINANCE CORPORATION (CCFC)

Glen Holmes
Director of Economic Development

A native of Mexico, Maine, Glen is the Director of Operations for Community Concepts Finance Corp. (CCFC), a subsidiary of Community Concepts that provides business and residential lending, home ownership services including Homebuyer Education, Foreclosure Counseling along with many other housing related services, and Economic Community Development for Oxford County. Prior to joining CCFC in 2012, Glen spent five years in the Air Force and then held a variety of local management positions, including Town Manager of Buckfield. Glen is very active in they community, serving as Board Treasurer for the Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce, Board Secretary for the Auburn-Lewiston YMCA, and Chairman of both the Buckfield Village Corp and the Buckfield Appeals Board. He is also a Leadership Maine graduate (Upsilon class).

 

PROPERTY MANAGEMENT & MAINTENANCE

Bob Vallee
Director of Property Management & Maintenance

Bob has been with Community Concepts since 1994, starting as a Rehab Technician then moved his way up the organization to his present position as Director of Property Facility and Asset Management where he has served since 2001. Bob and his staff are responsible for all of the management and maintenance activities for the agency’s 175 units of rental properties, 5 offices and 8 Early Learning Center facilities, providing safe, effective and affordable rental housing, quality office and children center facilities throughout Androscoggin, Oxford and Franklin counties. Prior to joining Community Concepts, Bob owned and operated a drywall construction company for 11 years servicing residential, commercial and industrial customers. Active in his community, Bob serves as treasurer of the Board of Directors for Common Ties Mental Health.

 

FAMILY SERVICES

Christine Hufnagel   LCSW, CADC
Director of Family Services

As the Director of Family Services for Community Concepts, Christine Hufnagel oversees multiple programs supporting families including child welfare, substance abuse, mental health and parenting/child relationships.  Christine has been with Community Concepts since 2000, when she moved to Maine.  Prior to joining Community Concepts she provided direct services in the mental health, child welfare and substance abuse fields in New Jersey and Delaware.  Christine has a BSW with a secondary major in Sociology from Georgian Court College in New Jersey and a MSW from Fordham University in New York.  She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Certified Drug & Alcohol Counselor (CADC), Certified Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician/Community (MHRT/C) and a graduate of the Maine Development Foundation Leadership Maine Chi Class.  Christine serves on several local and statewide boards, councils and committees.
