Melissa Wakefield, Maine Families Program & Oxford County Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Council Manager

Melissa Wakefield is the manager of Community Concepts’ Maine Families home visitation program in Oxford as well as the Oxford County Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Council. A Licensed Social Worker that has worked in child abuse and neglect prevention since 2004, Melissa holds a BA in Social and Behavioral Sciences from the University of Southern Maine and is certified as a Maine Families Program Manager and Lactation Counselor. She is a trained facilitator in Mandated Reporting, Abusive Head Trauma, Safe Sleep, Futures without Violence, Strengthening Families, as well as several prevention based parenting education models.  Melissa is a member of the Maine Resilience Building network, Oxford County Wellness Collaborative and a board member for the Oxford County United Way.  She has a strong dedication to supporting children and families and collaborates with multiple organizations to achieve this goal.
